Marubeni Tetsugen will do our utmost to preserve the environmental well-being of the earth, while contributing to international society through our business activities and striving for harmony with prosperity of human society.
Basic Policy
Accepting Marubeni Group's Environmental Policy, basic policy in connection with global environmental preservation related to our activities such as domestic business and international trade in the field of steel-making raw materials, metals and minerals, shall be established as follows:
1．
While undertaking business activities, environmental impact on the local society and the natural world will always be considered and efforts to reduce environmental risk, protect the environment and prevent pollution will be made:
(1)
International environmental treaties, environmental laws and regulations related to Japan and the country concerned, and other requirements will be observed.
(2)
At the time new projects such as resource development project and new investment and financing are commenced, the environmental impact thereof will be assessed and such impact, especially on the regional and natural environment, will be given great consideration and attention.
(3)
Business relating to environmental preservation such as recycling of metal resources and maintenance and improvement of the soil and ground etc will be carried out.
(4)
Greater consideration and care of the environment jointly with business customers will be encouraged.
(5)
In daily office work, energy savings, resource savings and collection of waste by type will be carried out.
(6)
Efforts to enhance the awareness of environmental preservation by way of educational and enlightening activities will be carried out.
2．
Establishment of the Environmental Management System and Continuous Improvement:
In line with this Environmental Policy, the Environmental Management System shall be established, and efforts toward and continuous improvement thereof shall be made.
3．
Notification and Publication of the Environmental Policy:
All directors, employees and other parties internally and externally concerned shall be notified of this Environmental Policy and this Environmental policy will also be made available to the public in documentary form etc.
